Olomoon is being built by people with different ages, countries, skills and paths — students and non-students, technical and non-technical contributors, community builders, storytellers, entrepreneurs and experienced mentors — united by one belief: talent exists everywhere and deserves to be discovered.
The people who build and run Olomoon day to day: the scouting, the interviews, the community, operations and communication.
Occasional specialists who lend focused expertise, for example data science, databases and AI impact. They advise the team.
Built by a cross-generational team bringing together complementary skills and experience.
Sophie Civet co-founded the Future World Film Festival in Lisbon, which received 350 films from more than 50 countries and worked with NGOs and associations to give young people from under-resourced communities greater visibility. Its Humanity in Harmony and Cherish the Earth awards reflected her belief that creativity should contribute to positive impact. She later founded LUMI, an AI-powered educational platform designed for learners in under-resourced countries.
With a background in mathematics and engineering, Jean-François Nguyen spent much of the latter part of his career developing software exclusively for financial institutions, helping them understand and manage risk. He now wants the next generation of AI builders to direct their ingenuity towards the major challenges facing society, from climate and health to education and communities.
Together, they founded Olomoon to discover and support young people creating practical AI solutions for a better world.

Remarkable projects deserve more than a single presentation.
Olomoon finds young AI builders, provides them with a community space, tells their stories, and invites them once a year to participate in the Olomoon Challenge.
Across all four pillars, every project must create real, positive impact, in one of four human themes.
We are building a team to find young AI builders building for positive impact, all year, all over the world. Discovery is open now.
Our editorial voice. We interview the young AI builders we discover, all over the world, and publish their stories.
A space where the young builders we discover talk to each other, exchange ideas and find collaborators.
The Olomoon Challenge is planned for 2027 and will be introduced under separate official rules. It is not open yet.
